Several police officers from subdivisions of the General Inspectorate of Police participated in a workshop on combating illegal migration and trafficking in human beings.
The workshop was attended by representatives of the General Prosecutor’s Office, subdivisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (General Inspectorate for Migration, General Inspectorate of Border Police), the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and representatives of foreign law enforcement authorities.
The Deputy Chief of the General Inspectorate of Police, Alexandru Ganaciuc, was present at the beginning of the event and appreciated the efforts of law enforcement officials to work together to ensure a safe environment in society.
“Cooperation and exchange of information between law enforcement authorities, judicial authorities and international partners are essential to effectively combat human trafficking and the organization of illegal migration in order to protect the rights and dignity of victims,” said the Deputy Chief of Police.
This is the first workshop organized in the Republic of Moldova in the framework of the project entitled “OSINT-RADAR – Operational Partnership against Smuggling of Migrants in the Western Balkans and the Eastern Borders of the European Union”.
